SOX/Internal Controls Consultant

LifePoint Health is looking for a talented and experienced SOX/Internal Controls Consultant to join our team. We are seeking an individual with a passion for financial compliance and a commitment to protecting the integrity of our financial reporting systems. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to think strategically and provide guidance on a variety of topics. The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive experience in SOX/Internal Controls, including experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and implementing internal controls. A thorough understanding of financial procedures and compliance standards is also essential to success in this role. The candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and at least 5 years of professional experience in SOX/Internal Controls. A CPA or CIA certification is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities:

1. Assess and monitor the effectiveness of internal controls in accordance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and other applicable laws and regulations.
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure SOX compliance.
3. Develop and monitor internal controls to protect the integrity of financial reporting systems.
4. Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
5. Provide training and guidance to staff on SOX/Internal Controls-related processes and procedures.
6. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with SOX/Internal Controls requirements.
7. Prepare reports to senior management and the Board of Directors regarding SOX/Internal Controls compliance.
8. Research and analyze industry trends and best practices related to SOX/Internal Controls.
9. Address inquiries from external auditors and other stakeholders regarding SOX/Internal Controls.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SOX/Internal Controls regulations and standards.
