- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience for patients.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes in their condition.
- Administer medications and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including pre- and post-operative assessments.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of surgical equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on advancements in surgical nursing.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families during the surgical process.
- Advocate for patients' needs and concerns.
- Collaborate with other departments and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Promote a culture of excellence in patient care and customer service.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution: A Rn-Surgery/Or Position At Lifepoint Health Requires A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing To Ensure That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice.
Active Rn License In The State Of Employment: Lifepoint Health Requires All Rn-Surgery/Or Candidates To Have An Active Registered Nurse License In The State Where The Job Is Located. This Ensures That The Candidate Is Legally Eligible To Practice Nursing In That State.
Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Surgical/Or Nursing: Lifepoint Health Values Experience In The Surgical/Or Setting And Requires A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In This Area. This Ensures That The Candidate Has A Good Understanding Of The Complex And Fast-Paced Environment Of The Operating Room.
Bls And Acls Certification: Lifepoint Health Requires All Rn-Surgery/Or Candidates To Have Current Bls (Basic Life Support) And Acls (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) Certifications. These Certifications Indicate That The Candidate Is Trained In Emergency Procedures And Is Prepared To Handle Critical Situations In The Operating Room.
Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Member Of The Surgical/Or Team, An Rn-Surgery/Or Must Have Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills To Effectively Collaborate With Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, And Other Healthcare Professionals.
