- Utilize critical thinking skills to quickly assess and prioritize patient needs.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care.
- Stay updated on current emergency care practices and procedures.

- Participate in the training and supervision of new staff members.
- Promote a positive and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Create a safe and clean environment for patients by following infection control and safety protocols.
- Keep patient information confidential and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.

Valid Rn License In The State Of Employment: This Is A Basic Requirement For Any Registered Nurse Position And Ensures That The Candidate Has Completed The Necessary Education And Training To Provide Safe And Effective Patient Care.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Emergency Department Experience: Working In The Fast-Paced Environment Of An Emergency Department Requires A Certain Level Of Experience And Knowledge. Lifepoint Health Seeks Candidates With At Least 2 Years Of Ed Experience To Ensure They Can Handle The Demands Of The Job.
Bls, Acls, And Pals Certifications: These Certifications Are Essential For Providing Life-Saving Interventions In Emergency Situations. Candidates Must Have Current Certifications In Basic Life Support (Bls), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls), And Pediatric Advanced Life Support (Pals).
Strong Critical Thinking And Decision-Making Skills: The Ability To Quickly Assess A Patient's Condition And Make Sound Decisions Is Crucial In The Emergency Department. Candidates For This Position Should Possess Strong Critical Thinking Skills And The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure.
Flexibility In Scheduling And Availability For On-Call Shifts: As A Prn (As Needed) Employee In The Emergency Department, The Candidate Must Be Available To Work A Flexible Schedule, Including Weekends And Holidays. They Should Also Be Willing To Take On-Call Shifts As Needed To Cover Staffing Shortages.
