As a Recreational Therapist Associate, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health conditions.   1. Plan and implement therapeutic recreational activities that promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being for patients in the Behavioral Health department.
  2. Collaborate with the treatment team to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate recreational therapy interventions.
  3. Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine patients' needs and abilities, and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and participation in recreational therapy activities.
  5. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  6. Create a safe and supportive environment for patients to engage in therapeutic activities, while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
  7. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in recreational therapy, and integrate new ideas into treatment plans as appropriate.
  8. Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and modalities, such as art, music, sports, and games, to address patients' physical, social, and emotional needs.
  9. Provide education and support to patients and their families about the benefits of recreational therapy and how it can improve overall well-being.
  10. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the Behavioral Health team, promoting teamwork and collaboration to enhance patient care.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and professional standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  12. Attend training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of recreational therapy.
  13. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the overall growth and success of the Behavioral Health department.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreational Therapy Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (Ctrs) Or Eligibility To Obtain Certification Within 6 Months Of Hire.

  • Minimum Of 1 Year Of Experience In A Behavioral Health Setting, Preferably In A Prn Or Per Diem Role.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices In Recreational Therapy And Ability To Apply Them In A Behavioral Health Setting.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work Effectively With Patients, Families, And Interdisciplinary Team Members.
