Job Description

  1. Implement individualized treatment plans: The COTA will be responsible for implementing personalized treatment plans for patients as directed by the occupational therapist. This includes carrying out therapeutic activities and exercises, monitoring progress, and adjusting treatment as needed.
  2. Provide exceptional care to patients: The COTA will play a critical role in providing exceptional care to patients by ensuring that all treatments are carried out accurately and effectively. They will also be responsible for creating a caring and compassionate environment for patients to promote healing and recovery.
  3. Collaborate with occupational therapist: The COTA will work closely with the occupational therapist to develop and implement treatment plans. They will also collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  4. Maintain accurate documentation: The COTA will be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of patient progress, treatments, and any changes in condition. This information will be used to monitor progress and inform future treatment plans.
  5. Adhere to professional standards and regulations: The COTA will be expected to adhere to all professional standards and regulations, including those set by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and state licensing boards.
  6. Continuously develop skills and knowledge: The COTA will be responsible for staying updated on the latest advancements and techniques in occupational therapy. They will also be encouraged to participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve their skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Cota Certification: The Ideal Candidate For A Prn Cota Position At Lifepoint Health Should Possess An Active Certification As A Cota From An Accredited Program. This Ensures That The Candidate Has The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform Occupational Therapy Duties.

  • State Licensure: In Addition To Certification, The Candidate Should Also Hold A Valid License To Practice As A Cota In The State Where Lifepoint Health Is Located. This Shows That The Candidate Has Met The State's Requirements For Practicing Occupational Therapy.
