
Phlebotomist PRN
Welcome to LifePoint Health! We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team on a PRN (as needed) basis. - Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Collect and label blood samples accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure proper patient identification and follow established protocols for patient care and sample handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Adhere to all HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
- Communicate with patients in a friendly and professional manner, providing an exceptional patient experience.
- Assist in training and mentoring new phlebotomy staff members.
- Maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment, and order as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the phlebotomy process and patient outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and best practices through continuing education and training opportunities.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all phlebotomy procedures and patient information.
- Flexibility to work on a PRN (as needed) basis, including weekends and holidays.
- Represent LifePoint Health in a professional and positive manner at all times.

- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy experience and a valid phlebotomy certification required.
- Maintain a compassionate and caring demeanor towards patients, their families, and fellow team members.

Completion Of A Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates Should Have Completed A Formal Training Program In Phlebotomy And Obtained A Certificate Or Diploma.
Certification: A Valid Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Is Preferred.
Experience: Prior Experience Working As A Phlebotomist In A Clinical Setting Is Required, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Facility.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Procedures Related To Blood Drawing And Handling Of Specimens.
Excellent Communication Skills: As A Phlebotomist, The Ability To Communicate Effectively With Patients, Healthcare Staff, And Laboratory Personnel Is Essential. Good Interpersonal Skills And A Positive Attitude Are Also Important For This Role.
