
Lead Security Officer

- Monitor and maintain the security of LifePoint Health facilities, including entrances, exits, and sensitive areas.
- Supervise and lead a team of security officers, providing direction, training, and support as needed.
- Conduct regular security patrols and inspections to identify potential risks or security breaches.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fires, or security threats, and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to detect and prevent potential security threats.
- Create and implement security procedures and protocols, ensuring they are followed by all staff and visitors.
- Investigate security incidents and write detailed reports on findings, including recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as facilities management and human resources, to address security concerns and make necessary changes.
- Maintain accurate records of security activities, including incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Conduct background checks and screenings for potential new hires to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and make recommendations for security enhancements as needed.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff and provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
- Enforce company policies and procedures related to security, ensuring compliance from all individuals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans.
- Attend and participate in security meetings and training sessions as required.
Extensive Experience In Security Operations: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 5 Years Of Experience In A Leadership Role In Security Operations, Preferably In A Healthcare Setting. This Experience Should Include Managing Security Personnel, Conducting Risk Assessments, And Implementing Security Protocols.
Knowledge Of Healthcare Security Regulations: The Candidate Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Healthcare Security Regulations And Compliance Requirements. This Includes Hipaa, Cms, And Joint Commission Standards.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Lead Security Officer, The Candidate Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Security Personnel And Working Closely With Other Departments. Therefore, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Leading And Collaborating With Others.
Crisis Management Skills: In The Event Of An Emergency Or Security Threat, The Lead Security Officer Must Be Able To Remain Calm, Think Quickly, And Make Effective Decisions. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience In Crisis Management And Be Able To Effectively Lead And Direct Others During High-Stress Situations.
Training And Certifications: A Lead Security Officer Should Have A Strong Foundation In Security Training And Certifications. This May Include Certifications In Healthcare Security, Emergency Response, And/Or Security Management. Additional Training In De-Escalation Techniques And Conflict Resolution Is Also Desirable.
