
IP Coding Manager

- Oversee the inpatient coding process and ensure accuracy and compliance with all coding guidelines and regulations.
- Train, mentor, and supervise a team of inpatient coders to maintain high quality and productivity levels.
- Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all inpatient encounters.
- Conduct regular audits to identify coding errors and areas for improvement, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Medical Records and Finance, to resolve coding-related issues and ensure accurate billing.
- Stay up-to-date on all coding regulations and guidelines, and communicate changes to the coding team.
- Monitor coding productivity and provide regular reports to upper management on coding metrics.
- Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding queries.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the coding process and make recommendations for system and workflow enhancements.
- Participate in coding compliance audits and assist with any remediation efforts.
- Serve as a resource for coding inquiries and provide guidance and support to the coding team.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Represent the organization in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Other duties as assigned by upper management.
Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Medical Coding, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.
Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From Ahima Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Credential From Aapc.
Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems, As Well As Cms Coding Guidelines And Regulations.
Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Coders, Including Hiring, Training, And Performance Evaluations.
