As the IP Coding Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant coding for all inpatient encounters.   1. Oversee the inpatient coding process and ensure accuracy and compliance with all coding guidelines and regulations.
  2. Train, mentor, and supervise a team of inpatient coders to maintain high quality and productivity levels.
  3. Develop and implement coding policies and procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency across all inpatient encounters.
  4. Conduct regular audits to identify coding errors and areas for improvement, and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  5. Collaborate with other departments, such as Medical Records and Finance, to resolve coding-related issues and ensure accurate billing.
  6. Stay up-to-date on all coding regulations and guidelines, and communicate changes to the coding team.
  7. Monitor coding productivity and provide regular reports to upper management on coding metrics.
  8. Work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to clarify documentation and coding queries.
  9. Identify opportunities for improvement in the coding process and make recommendations for system and workflow enhancements.
  10. Participate in coding compliance audits and assist with any remediation efforts.
  11. Serve as a resource for coding inquiries and provide guidance and support to the coding team.
  12. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  13. Represent the organization in a professional manner and maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
  14. Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  15. Other duties as assigned by upper management.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Health Information Management Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Medical Coding, Preferably In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting.

  • Certified Coding Specialist (Ccs) Credential From Ahima Or Certified Professional Coder (Cpc) Credential From Aapc.

  • Knowledge Of Icd-10, Cpt, And Hcpcs Coding Systems, As Well As Cms Coding Guidelines And Regulations.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Coders, Including Hiring, Training, And Performance Evaluations.
