Job Description

If so, LifePoint Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team on a PRN basis. In this role, you will work alongside our team of healthcare professionals to provide individualized treatment plans and interventions to patients of all ages.   1. Implement Individualized Treatment Plans: The COTA will work closely with patients and their families to develop and implement personalized treatment plans that address their specific needs and goals.
  2. Provide Interventions: The COTA will assist patients in carrying out therapeutic interventions, such as exercises, activities, and other treatment techniques, as prescribed by the occupational therapist.
  3. Collaborate with Healthcare Team: The COTA will work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  4. Monitor Patient Progress: The COTA will regularly assess and track patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal results.
  5. Educate Patients and Families: The COTA will educate patients and their families on their condition, treatment plan, and how to continue therapeutic activities at home.
  6. Maintain Documentation: The COTA will accurately and timely document patient progress, treatment plans, and other relevant information in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  7. Ensure Safety and Comfort: The COTA will ensure the safety and comfort of patients during therapy sessions, including proper use of equipment and monitoring for any potential hazards.
  8. Attend Team Meetings: The COTA will actively participate in team meetings and provide updates on patient progress and any concerns or challenges.
  9. Maintain Professionalism: The COTA will maintain a high level of professionalism, adhering to ethical and legal standards, and representing the company in a positive manner.
  10. Keep up with Industry Changes: The COTA will stay informed about industry changes, advancements, and best practices to provide the most effective and up-to-date treatment for patients.
  11. Adhere to Policies and Procedures: The COTA will follow company policies and procedures, including infection control, safety protocols, and patient privacy laws.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Certification: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Cota Prn Job At Lifepoint Health Is A Valid Certification As A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This Certification Must Be Obtained Through An Accredited Program And Must Be Maintained Through Continuing Education.

  • State Licensing: In Addition To National Certification, Candidates Must Also Hold A Current State License To Practice As A Cota. This License Must Be In Good Standing And Must Be Maintained Throughout Employment With Lifepoint Health.

  • Relevant Experience: Lifepoint Health Requires Candidates For A Cota Prn Job To Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Relevant Work Experience In Occupational Therapy. This Experience Should Be In A Clinical Or Hospital Setting And Should Include Working With Patients Of Various Ages And Conditions.

  • Strong Communication Skills: As A Cota, Effective Communication Is Essential In Working With Patients, Their Families, And Other Members Of The Healthcare Team. Lifepoint Health Looks For Candidates With Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills, As Well As The Ability To Document Patient Progress Accurately And Clearly.

  • Flexibility And Availability: Since This Is A Prn (As Needed) Position, Candidates Must Be Flexible And Available To Work On An As-Needed Basis, Including Weekends And Holidays. They Must Also Be Able To Adapt To Different Patient Populations And Work Well In A Fast-Paced And Ever-Changing Healthcare Environment.
