  1. Lead and manage a team of underwriters to effectively evaluate and assess risks for insurance policies in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  2. Develop and implement underwriting strategies to drive profitable results and achieve business objectives.
  3. Monitor and analyze underwriting performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and take necessary actions to address any issues.
  4. Provide guidance and support to underwriters in complex risk assessments and decision-making.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency in underwriting practices and processes.
  6. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to make informed and strategic underwriting decisions.
  7. Coach, mentor, and train underwriting team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  8. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to facilitate their professional development.
  9. Communicate with agents and brokers to build and maintain strong relationships and resolve any underwriting-related concerns or issues.
  10. Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and other industry events to promote the organization's underwriting capabilities and drive business growth.
  11. Collaborate with the senior management team to develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures.
  12. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  13. Participate in the recruitment and selection process for underwriting team members.
  14. Handle escalated underwriting issues and make sound decisions in a timely manner.
  15. Drive a positive and results-oriented work culture within the underwriting team.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Business, Finance, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Or Risk Assessment.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Insurance Industry Regulations And Underwriting Principles.

  • Excellent Leadership And Managerial Skills, With The Ability To Mentor And Coach A Team.

  • Proven Track Record Of Effectively Managing Risk And Making Sound Underwriting Decisions.
