- Assess risk: Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of potential clients to determine their creditworthiness and ability to meet surety bond requirements.
- Ensure financial stability: Utilize financial data and industry knowledge to make informed decisions about the level of risk associated with providing surety bonds to clients.
- Collaborate with clients: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored surety bond solutions that meet their specific requirements.
- Maintain industry knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and emerging risks to effectively assess and mitigate potential risks for clients.
- Conduct underwriting activities: Review and analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to determine the appropriate terms and conditions for surety bonds.
- Negotiate terms and conditions: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for surety bonds with clients while balancing risk and profitability for the company.
- Manage portfolio: Monitor and manage a portfolio of surety bond clients to ensure timely renewals, appropriate risk management, and profitability.
- Provide exceptional service: Deliver exceptional customer service by promptly responding to client inquiries and providing accurate and helpful information.
- Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other team members, such as brokers, account managers, and claims specialists, to provide a seamless and efficient experience for clients.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures: Follow all company policies and procedures, including underwriting guidelines, to ensure consistency and compliance with regulations.
- Meet performance goals: Meet or exceed performance goals, including production and profitability targets, to contribute to the success of the Commercial Surety team and the company as a whole.
- Continuously improve processes: Identify areas for improvement in underwriting processes and procedures and make recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Bachelor's Degree In Finance, Business, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Commercial Surety Bonds.
Strong Knowledge Of Underwriting Principles, Practices, And Procedures.
Excellent Analytical, Decision-Making, And Problem-Solving Skills.
Ability To Effectively Communicate And Negotiate With Clients, Brokers, And Other Stakeholders.
