- Conduct thorough investigations of potential fraudulent insurance claims.
- Gather and analyze evidence to support fraud allegations.
- Collaborate with SIU team members to develop and implement investigation strategies.
- Provide legal counsel and guidance to the SIU team on fraud-related matters.
- Review and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and liability.
- Prepare and present evidence and reports to support fraudulent claim denials.
- Communicate with law enforcement agencies and other external partners in fraud investigations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of investigations and findings.
- Stay up-to-date on industry laws and regulations related to fraud.
- Act as a liaison between the SIU team and other departments within the company.
- Provide training and mentorship to other team members on fraud identification and investigation techniques.
- Uphold the company's standards of ethical conduct and confidentiality.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings related to fraud investigations.
- Continuously strive to improve fraud prevention and detection processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and prevent potential fraud risks.
Juris Doctor (Jd) Degree: A Staff Counsel For Siu At Liberty Mutual Insurance Must Have A Jd Degree From An Accredited Law School. This Is The Minimum Educational Requirement For Practicing Law And Handling Complex Legal Cases.
Active State Bar Membership: The Candidate Must Be Admitted To The Bar And In Good Standing In At Least One State Where Liberty Mutual Insurance Operates. This Ensures That The Individual Is Authorized To Practice Law And Has Met The Ethical And Professional Standards Set By The State.
Prior Experience In Insurance Defense Or Siu: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 3-5 Years Of Experience In Insurance Defense Or Special Investigation Unit. This Experience Will Help The Individual To Handle Complex Insurance Fraud Cases And Understand The Industry-Specific Laws And Regulations.
Strong Analytical And Investigative Skills: A Successful Staff Counsel For Siu At Liberty Mutual Insurance Must Have Strong Analytical And Investigative Skills To Analyze Complex Data, Identify Patterns And Trends, And Conduct Thorough Investigations To Uncover Fraudulent Activities.
