- Conduct thorough risk assessments and underwriting analysis to determine appropriate coverage and pricing for clients.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts, including new business and renewals, in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite.
- Make critical underwriting decisions based on a deep understanding of insurance industry regulations, trends, and best practices.
- Review and evaluate complex risk factors, such as financial statements, loss history, and industry trends, to accurately assess risk and determine appropriate coverage.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales and claims, to develop and implement effective risk management strategies for clients.
- Communicate underwriting decisions and recommendations to clients, agents, and other stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance and support to junior underwriters on complex or unique risks.
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments and changes in market conditions to make informed underwriting decisions and identify potential opportunities for growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, agents, and other business partners to ensure exceptional customer service and retention.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and relationship building.
- Adhere to company underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management standards.
- Continuously evaluate and improve underwriting processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge and stay current on industry trends and best practices.
- Represent the company in a professional manner at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Embrace a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous improvement to contribute to the success of the Risk Management team and the company as a whole.
Bachelor's Degree In Business Administration, Risk Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 7 Years Of Experience In Underwriting, Risk Assessment, Or A Related Field.
Advanced Knowledge Of Underwriting Principles, Practices, And Procedures.
Strong Analytical Skills And Ability To Make Sound Decisions Based On Risk Assessment.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Negotiate And Collaborate With Internal And External Stakeholders.
