  1. Conduct thorough risk assessments and underwriting analysis for major accounts in the shared and layered property market segment.
  2. Develop underwriting strategies and guidelines in alignment with company objectives and standards.
  3. Collaborate with brokers and clients to assess and understand their risk profiles and insurance needs.
  4. Review and analyze large and complex insurance submissions to determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
  5. Negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients to ensure profitable and sustainable business relationships.
  6. Monitor and manage the performance of assigned book of business, including identifying and addressing potential issues and opportunities.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, as well as changes in regulations and guidelines.
  8. Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and other team members, promoting a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  9. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers, clients, and other departments within the company.
  10. Maintain accurate documentation and records of underwriting decisions, ratings, and pricing.
  11. Implement and follow company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  12. Participate in training and development programs to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
  13. Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness within the underwriting team.
  14. Represent the company in industry events and conferences, promoting our brand and services.
  15. Ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction by providing prompt and accurate responses to inquiries and concerns.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Underwriting Experience: A Senior Underwriter For Major Accounts Property – Shared And Layered Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Commercial Property Insurance, With A Focus On Large Or Complex Accounts.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Shared And Layered Coverage: This Role Requires A Deep Understanding Of Shared And Layered Property Insurance, Including Expertise In Risk Assessment, Coverage Analysis, And Pricing Strategies.

  • Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: As A Senior Underwriter, You Will Be Responsible For Evaluating And Assessing Complex Risks, So Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills Are Essential. This Includes The Ability To Identify Potential Risks, Evaluate Data, And Make Sound Underwriting Decisions.

  • Excellent Communication And Relationship-Building Skills: This Position Requires Regular Communication With Brokers And Clients, As Well As Internal Teams. A Senior Underwriter Should Have Excellent Communication Skills To Effectively Convey Underwriting Decisions And Build Strong Relationships With Stakeholders.

  • Leadership And Mentoring Abilities: As A Senior Member Of The Underwriting Team, This Role May Involve Mentoring And Training Junior Underwriters. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills And The Ability To Effectively Coach And Develop Others Are Critical Qualifications For A Senior Underwriter.
