  1. Evaluate and underwrite complex marine cargo risks in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  2. Analyze and interpret data and information to make informed underwriting decisions.
  3. Collaborate with brokers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and negotiate terms.
  4. Conduct thorough risk assessments and identify potential exposures.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure excellent customer service.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and changes to insurance policies and procedures.
  7. Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and resolve underwriting challenges.
  8. Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and other team members.
  9. Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing insurance policies and make recommendations for adjustments.
  10. Participate in business development activities, including attending industry events and conferences.
  11. Maintain accurate and organized underwriting documentation.
  12. Collaborate with other departments, such as claims and finance, to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  13. Adhere to company underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  14. Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  15. Act as a subject matter expert in ocean marine - cargo insurance and provide training and support to other team members as needed.
