  1. Lead and manage a team of underwriters to achieve company goals and objectives.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans to drive profitable growth in the Middle Market segment.
  3. Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor strategies to make informed underwriting decisions.
  4. Train and mentor team members to enhance their underwriting skills and knowledge.
  5. Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and marketing, to develop and implement effective underwriting strategies.
  6. Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.
  7. Review and approve complex underwriting decisions and provide guidance to team members when needed.
  8. Identify and address risks and opportunities within the Middle Market segment.
  9. Foster a customer-centric culture within the team and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers and agents.
  11. Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior management.
  12. Stay updated on industry and regulatory changes and make necessary adjustments to underwriting guidelines and processes.
  13. Manage underwriting budget and expenses to meet financial targets.
  14. Continuously improve underwriting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  15. Represent the company at industry events and conferences to promote our brand and attract new business opportunities.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Underwriting Experience: A Successful Candidate For This Position Should Have A Minimum Of 10 Years Of Experience In Underwriting Middle Market Insurance. This Experience Should Include A Strong Understanding Of Risk Assessment And Pricing, As Well As A Track Record Of Making Sound Underwriting Decisions.

  • Leadership Skills: As A Director, Underwriting- Middle Market, This Individual Will Be Responsible For Managing A Team Of Underwriters And Driving The Overall Performance Of The Department. Therefore, Strong Leadership Skills, Including The Ability To Motivate And Develop A Team, Are Essential For This Role.

  • Analytical And Strategic Thinking: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Analytical Skills And The Ability To Think Strategically. This Will Enable Them To Assess Complex Risks, Develop Risk Mitigation Strategies, And Make Data-Driven Decisions That Align With The Company's Underwriting Objectives.

  • Industry Knowledge: A Thorough Understanding Of The Insurance Industry, Particularly In The Middle Market Segment, Is Crucial For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Familiar With Industry Trends, Competition, And Regulatory Requirements To Effectively Manage Risks And Drive Profitable Growth.

  • Communication And Relationship Building: As A Director, Underwriting- Middle Market, The Individual Will Need To Effectively Communicate With Various Stakeholders, Including Clients, Brokers, And Internal Teams.
