Specimen Accessioner

LabCorp is looking for an enthusiastic Specimen Accessioner to join our team of professionals and provide vital support to our specimen processes. This role requires a high attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in order to ensure our lab processes are working correctly.The successful candidate will have the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. They should have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as a basic understanding of medical terminology and laboratory processes. Responsibilities:

• Accession specimen samples accurately and in a timely manner

• Maintain accurate records of specimen accessioning

• Adhere to lab protocols and procedures for specimen handling

• Verify patient information and order details on specimen labels

• Utilize laboratory information systems to store and retrieve patient information

• Handle and maintain confidential patient data

• Assist with inventory management and maintenance of laboratory supplies

• Follow safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment

• Troubleshoot any specimen accessioning issues

• Ensure timely completion of all specimen accessioning tasks

• Assist other laboratory personnel as needed
