As a Specialty Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the accurate and timely processing of laboratory tests.   1. Perform laboratory tests accurately and efficiently according to established procedures and protocols.
  2. Collect, label, and process specimens for analysis.
  3. Maintain and organize laboratory equipment and supplies.
  4. Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
  5. Enter and maintain accurate data in laboratory information systems.
  6. Troubleshoot issues with equipment and escalate to appropriate personnel when necessary.
  7. Adhere to quality control procedures and report any discrepancies or issues.
  8. Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure timely turnaround of results.
  9. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients regarding test results and any necessary follow-up.
  10. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  11. Continuously monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies.
  12. Participate in continuing education and training opportunities to stay current with industry standards and advancements.
  13. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  14. Provide exceptional customer service to patients and colleagues.
  15. Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
  17. Demonstrate a strong understanding of laboratory safety and biohazard protocols.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Procedures And Equipment: A Specialty Lab Assistant At Labcorp Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Laboratory Procedures, Including But Not Limited To Specimen Collection, Processing, And Analysis. They Should Also Be Familiar With Various Laboratory Equipment And Instruments.

  • Attention To Detail: Precision And Accuracy Are Crucial In A Laboratory Setting, And A Specialty Lab Assistant Should Have Excellent Attention To Detail To Ensure Accurate Results And Data Entry.

  • Ability To Work In A Fast-Paced Environment: Labcorp Is A Busy And Dynamic Workplace, And A Specialty Lab Assistant Should Be Able To Work Efficiently And Effectively In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills: As A Specialty Lab Assistant, You Will Be Working With A Team Of Healthcare Professionals, Including Laboratory Technicians, Pathologists, And Other Medical Staff. Therefore, Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills Are Essential To Ensure Smooth Operations And Accurate Results.

  • Education And Experience: A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required For This Role, And Additional Education Or Certification In A Relevant Field Is Preferred. Experience Working In A Laboratory Or Healthcare Setting Is Also Desirable.
