- Perform phlebotomy procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient comfort and safety at all times.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for collecting, handling, and processing specimens.
- Maintain accurate records of all specimens collected and ensure proper labeling and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to prevent contamination and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.
- Troubleshoot any issues or concerns with specimen collection or processing and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Stay up-to-date on all training and certifications required for the role, including knowledge of relevant medical terminology and procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate delivery of test results.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients, addressing any questions or concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all aspects of the job.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and efficiency in specimen collection and testing.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of necessary supplies.
- Attend and actively participate in department meetings and trainings.
- Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times.
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (Cpt) Or Equivalent Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or American Medical Technologists (Amt).
Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience In Phlebotomy And Specimen Collection, Preferably In A Laboratory Or Healthcare Setting.
Knowledge Of Proper Specimen Collection And Handling Techniques, Including Venipuncture And Capillary Puncture.
Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Ability To Accurately Label And Process Specimens For Testing.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, As Well As Attention To Detail And Ability To Work Independently.
