  1. Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures on patients in a safe and efficient manner.
  2. Collect and process specimens according to established procedures and protocols.
  3. Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens to maintain sample integrity.
  4. Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including specimen collection information and patient demographics.
  5. Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
  6. Communicate with patients and healthcare team members in a professional and compassionate manner.
  7. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  8. Follow all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  9. Participate in continuing education and training to stay updated on best practices and procedures.
  10. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to patients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification In Phlebotomy: A Phlebotomist Must Have A Valid Certification In Phlebotomy From An Accredited Institution. This Certification Ensures That The Individual Has Completed The Necessary Training And Has The Required Knowledge And Skills To Perform Blood Collection Procedures Accurately And Safely.

  • Experience In Blood Collection: Labcorp Requires A Minimum Of 6 Months To 1 Year Of Experience In Blood Collection For Their Phlebotomist Positions. This Experience Helps Ensure That The Individual Is Familiar With The Various Blood Collection Techniques And Can Effectively Handle Different Types Of Patients.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: A Phlebotomist Should Have A Good Understanding Of Medical Terminology, Including Common Lab Tests And Procedures. This Knowledge Is Essential For Accurately Labeling And Documenting Blood Samples And Communicating With Other Healthcare Professionals.

  • Attention To Detail: Phlebotomists Need To Have A Keen Eye For Detail To Ensure That Blood Samples Are Collected And Labeled Correctly. They Must Also Follow Strict Protocols To Prevent Contamination And Maintain The Integrity Of The Samples.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: As A Phlebotomist, You Will Interact With Patients From Diverse Backgrounds And Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively And Empathetically. Good Communication Skills Are Also Essential When Working With Other Healthcare Professionals, Such As Doctors And Nurses, To Ensure Accurate And Timely Delivery Of Test Results.
