- Perform blood draws and venipunctures on patients according to standard protocols.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during the phlebotomy process.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
- Accurately record and document patient information and test results.
- Follow established procedures for handling and processing specimens.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate testing of specimens.
- Attend training and continuing education sessions to stay current on industry developments and best practices.

Completion Of A Phlebotomy Training Program: Candidates Must Have Successfully Completed A Certified Phlebotomy Training Program From An Accredited Institution.
Certification: A Valid Certification From A Recognized Certifying Body Such As The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp) Or The National Phlebotomy Association (Npa) Is Required.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology And Procedures: Candidates Must Possess A Strong Understanding Of Medical Terminology And Procedures Related To Phlebotomy, Including Proper Venipuncture Techniques And Infection Control Protocols.
Experience With Blood Collection: Previous Experience Performing Venipuncture And Collecting Blood Samples Is Preferred. Candidates Must Also Be Familiar With Different Types Of Blood Collection Tubes And Their Uses.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Phlebotomist, Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential In Order To Interact With Patients, Healthcare Professionals, And Laboratory Staff Effectively.
