Job Description

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Lab Assistant - Hematology to join our team at LabCorp. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting laboratory personnel in preparing specimens for analysis, performing testing, and providing general laboratory support. If you’re passionate about helping to advance the field of medicine and have the required qualifications, we’d love to hear from you!To be considered for this role, you must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, have at least one year of experience in a medical laboratory, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must also be able to read, comprehend, and follow instructions as well as understand medical terminology. In addition, familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and techniques is required. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, able to multi-task and prioritize, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist laboratory personnel in preparing specimens for analysis and performing testing.
  2. Provide general laboratory support.
  3. Read, comprehend, and follow instructions as well as understand medical terminology.
  4. Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to laboratory safety protocols and techniques.
  5. Multi-task and prioritize workloads.
  6. Work both independently and as part of a team.
  7. Maintain accurate records of specimen testing and results.
  8. Assist with laboratory maintenance and equipment calibration checks.
  9. Perform basic laboratory tasks such as preparing reagents, preparing solutions, and disposing of specimens.
  10. Assist with data entry and analysis.
