Job Description

  • Perform tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining techniques following established protocols and SOPs
  • Ensure accuracy and quality control of all tissue samples and slides
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and stainers
  • Monitor and document all quality control measures, including temperature logs, reagent expiration dates, and equipment maintenance records
  • Prepare and label slides for pathologist review and interpretation
  • Perform special staining techniques as needed for specific diagnostic tests
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure sample integrity and prevent cross-contamination
  • Communicate any technical issues or discrepancies to laboratory management and assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials
  • Keep current with industry advancements and participate in continuing education and training opportunities to maintain technical proficiency
  • Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of diagnostic results to healthcare providers.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Medical Technology Or A Related Field.

  • Certification As A Histotechnologist (Htl) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).

  • Minimum Of 1-2 Years Of Experience Working In A Histology Laboratory.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Histology Techniques, Procedures, And Quality Control Measures.

  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Excellent Attention To Detail And Time Management Skills.
