- Prepare tissue specimens for examination and diagnosis by pathologists.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in all histology procedures.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for tissue processing.
- Utilize specialized equipment and techniques for tissue preparation, embedding, sectioning, staining, and mounting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and reagents needed for histology procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during tissue processing.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to protect self and others from potential hazards.
- Keep accurate records of all procedures performed, including specimen identification and labeling.
- Collaborate with pathologists and other laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of results.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills in histology techniques and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors to ensure smooth workflow and efficient laboratory operations.
- Uphold company policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality.

Bachelor's Degree In Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Or A Related Field.
Certification As A Histotechnician (Ht) Or Histotechnologist (Htl) By The American Society For Clinical Pathology (Ascp).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting, With A Focus On Histology Techniques And Procedures.
Proficiency In Operating And Maintaining Laboratory Equipment, Such As Microtomes, Tissue Processors, And Staining Instruments.
Strong Attention To Detail, Critical Thinking Skills, And The Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team.
