- Perform laboratory tests and procedures accurately and efficiently according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace and properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during testing.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of all tests performed and results obtained.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure proper specimen collection and handling.
- Stay current with new developments and advancements in laboratory science through continuing education and training.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory supervisors, managers, and colleagues to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to maintain the accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing.
- Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and follow all protocols for specimen identification and labeling.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Adhere to LabCorp's values and mission to deliver accurate and timely results to healthcare providers and patients.
- Assist with training and mentoring new laboratory technologists as needed.
- Continuously strive to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy in the laboratory.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or Related Field
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Laboratory Setting
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Or Medical Technologist (Mt) By A Recognized Accrediting Agency (E.g. Ascp, Amt)
Knowledge Of Laboratory Equipment And Procedures, Including Proficiency With Automated And Manual Testing Systems
Ability To Accurately Interpret And Report Laboratory Results, And Maintain Strict Adherence To Quality Control And Safety Protocols.
