
Clinical Laboratory Technologist - Hematology

- Conduct hematology tests and procedures accurately and efficiently in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of specimens to maintain sample integrity.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation, troubleshooting and resolving issues as needed.
- Review and analyze test results, identifying any abnormal or inconsistent findings and taking appropriate action.
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely test completion.
- Adhere to all safety and quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments, new techniques, and equipment in the field of hematology.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests, results, and procedures performed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding test results and any potential issues.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing any inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all company policies and regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
- Train and mentor new laboratory staff as needed.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or manager.
Bachelor's Degree In Medical Laboratory Science Or A Related Field, With A Focus On Hematology.
Certification As A Medical Laboratory Scientist (Mls) Through A Recognized Accrediting Agency (Ascp, Amt, Aab, Etc.).
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In A Clinical Laboratory, With A Specific Focus On Hematology Testing And Analysis.
Strong Knowledge Of Laboratory Instrumentation And Techniques Used In Hematology Testing, Including Automated Cell Counters, Blood Smear Analysis, And Coagulation Studies.
Excellent Attention To Detail And Ability To Maintain Accurate Records And Documentation, As Well As Adhere To Quality Control And Quality Assurance Measures.
