  1. Develop and implement process safety management programs in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety risks and develop strategies for mitigating them.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  4. Monitor and analyze safety metrics and performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
  5. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  6. Act as a subject matter expert on process safety management and provide guidance and training to employees at all levels.
  7. Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
  8. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in process safety management, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  9. Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and drive safety initiatives.
  10. Act as a change agent by championing safety initiatives and promoting a proactive approach to safety throughout the organization.
  11. Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures for potential safety incidents.
  12. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure that safety considerations are incorporated into all projects and processes.
  13. Provide support and guidance during safety audits and inspections conducted by regulatory agencies.
  14. Communicate safety-related information and updates to employees at all levels of the organization.
  15. Participate in incident investigations and assist with the development of corrective and preventive actions.
  16. Mentor and coach junior team members on process safety management best practices and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Chemical Engineering Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Chemical Engineering Principles Is Essential For A Process Safety Engineer To Understand And Analyze Complex Processes And Systems.

  • Knowledge Of Process Safety Regulations And Standards: A Process Safety Engineer Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Relevant Regulations And Industry Standards Such As Osha's Process Safety Management (Psm) And The American Institute Of Chemical Engineers' (Aiche) Center For Chemical Process Safety (Ccps) Guidelines.

  • Experience In Process Hazard Analysis: Process Safety Engineers Should Have Experience In Conducting And Facilitating Process Hazard Analyses (Pha) Such As Hazop (Hazard And Operability Study) And Lopa (Layers Of Protection Analysis) To Identify And Mitigate Potential Hazards.

  • Familiarity With Risk Assessment Techniques: A Process Safety Engineer Should Have Experience In Utilizing Risk Assessment Techniques Such As Fault Tree Analysis (Fta) And Event Tree Analysis (Eta) To Evaluate The Potential Consequences Of Process Incidents.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: Process Safety Engineers Must Have Excellent Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Identify Potential Hazards, Conduct Root Cause Analysis, And Develop Effective Solutions To Prevent Process Incidents. They Should Also Be Able To Effectively Communicate Their Findings And Recommendations To Stakeholders At All Levels Of The Organization.
