
Utilization Management Specialist - Mental Health

- Conduct Utilization Management: The Utilization Management Specialist will be responsible for conducting utilization management activities, including reviewing and analyzing mental health care services provided to members of Kaiser Permanente.
- Ensure Appropriate Care: The specialist will work to ensure that our members receive appropriate and timely mental health care services, based on their needs and the guidelines and protocols set by Kaiser Permanente.
- Collaborate with Mental Health Team: This role requires close collaboration with the mental health team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure that members receive coordinated and effective care.
- Monitor and Evaluate Care: The specialist will regularly monitor and evaluate the quality of mental health care services provided to members, identifying any areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Maintain Compliance: It is the responsibility of the Utilization Management Specialist to ensure that all mental health care services are in compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as Kaiser Permanente policies and procedures.
- Utilize Data and Technology: This role requires the use of data and technology to track and report on the utilization of mental health services, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve care.
- Educate and Train: The specialist will be responsible for educating and training mental health providers on utilization management policies and procedures, as well as providing guidance and support to ensure compliance.
- Advocate for Members: As a representative of Kaiser Permanente, the specialist will advocate for the best interests of members, ensuring that they receive the highest quality mental health care possible.
- Participate in Quality Improvement: The specialist will actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing their expertise to improve the overall delivery of mental health care services at Kaiser Permanente.
- Maintain Professional Development: To stay current with best practices and industry standards, the specialist will engage in ongoing professional development opportunities, including attending trainings and conferences related to utilization management and mental health.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Mental Health Or Utilization Management.
Knowledge Of Mental Health Treatment Guidelines And Best Practices.
Ability To Analyze And Interpret Data To Make Informed Decisions For Patient Care.
