Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Thoracic Surgery Physician Assistant to join our team. As a PA in our Thoracic Surgery department, you will play a critical role in providing top-notch care to our patients.   1. Provide exceptional patient care in the Thoracic Surgery department.
  2. Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  3. Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and medical history reviews.
  4. Assist in surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative care.
  5. Monitor and manage patient recovery and post-operative complications.
  6. Educate patients and their families on surgical procedures and aftercare instructions.
  7. Keep accurate and detailed patient records.
  8. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  9. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices in thoracic surgery.
  10. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in maintaining departmental standards.
  14. Provide guidance and support to other healthcare team members, including training and mentoring.
  15. Attend regular staff meetings and participate in departmental projects and committees.
  16. Comply with all hospital policies and procedures.
  17. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times.
  18. Prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  19. Act as a patient advocate and ensure their needs are met.
  20. Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Physician Assistant Studies From An Accredited Program

  • Current Certification From The National Commission On Certification Of Physician Assistants (Nccpa)

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Physician Assistant In A Surgical Setting, Preferably In Thoracic Surgery

  • Strong Knowledge And Understanding Of Thoracic Anatomy, Diseases, And Surgical Procedures

  • Ability To Work Collaboratively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Healthcare Providers
