Job Description

  1. Dispense Medications: Accurately and safely dispense medications to patients according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Collaborate with Pharmacists: Work closely with pharmacists to ensure the safe and effective use of medications for patients. Communicate any concerns or issues to pharmacists in a timely manner.
  3. Maintain Inventory: Monitor and maintain inventory levels of medications and supplies. Place orders and restock shelves as needed.
  4. Accurate Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all medications dispensed, including dosage, quantity, and patient information. Follow all necessary documentation procedures and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  5. Patient Education: Provide patients with information on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and other relevant information. Address any questions or concerns patients may have and refer them to a pharmacist when necessary.
  6. Adhere to Safety Standards: Follow all safety protocols and standards to ensure the safe handling and dispensing of medications. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure a seamless experience for patients.
  8. Quality Control: Participate in quality control measures, including medication inspections, expiration date checks, and proper storage of medications.
  9. Continual Learning: Stay up-to-date with changes in pharmacy practices, laws, and regulations. Attend trainings and participate in professional development activities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  10. Maintain Clean and Organized Work Environment: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of clutter. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and hygienic workspace.
