As a technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists in the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions.   1. Conduct comprehensive patient screenings and assessments to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions.
  2. Perform various ophthalmic tests and procedures, including visual acuity testing, tonometry, and lensometry, with a high level of accuracy and precision.
  3. Maintain all ophthalmic equipment and supplies, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
  4. Assist in the preparation and documentation of patient medical records, including entering data into electronic health records and maintaining confidentiality.
  5. Educate patients on proper eye care and the proper use of contact lenses, eyeglasses, and other visual aids.
  6. Prepare and administer ophthalmic medications and instruct patients on medication usage and potential side effects.
  7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current ophthalmic technology and techniques, attending training and continuing education opportunities as needed.
  9. Ensure a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and infection control protocols.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing any concerns or questions in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Adhere to all ethical and legal guidelines in the provision of eye care services.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  13. Support the overall mission and goals of the healthcare organization and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education

  • Completion Of An Accredited Ophthalmic Technician Program

  • Certification As A Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Cot) Or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (Coa)

  • At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As An Ophthalmic Technician In A Clinical Setting

  • Working Knowledge Of Ophthalmic Equipment And Procedures, Including But Not Limited To Refractometry, Tonometry, Visual Field Testing, And Contact Lens Fitting.
