Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Surgical Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence and a commitment to providing quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for preparing and maintaining the surgical environment and assisting the surgical team during surgical procedures. This individual must be able to demonstrate technical proficiency and have a strong understanding of the principles of asepsis.To be successful in this role, you must possess exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. You must also have a keen eye for detail, be able to work well under pressure, and have a strong knowledge and understanding of the principles of surgical technology. In addition, the following qualifications are required:

Responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist:

• Prepare the operating room and instruments for surgery, including sterilizing and setting up equipment and supplies. • Ensure that the operating room is set up with the necessary surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with established standards and protocols. • Assist the surgeon and other healthcare professionals during the surgery by passing instruments, positioning and prepping the patient, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. • Monitor and maintain the sterile field during the procedure, and handle specimens for laboratory testing. • Monitor and maintain the operating room environment to ensure a safe and efficient flow of the surgery. • Assist in the post-operative care of the patient by cleaning and preparing the operating room for the next procedure. • Maintain the patient’s safety and comfort throughout the procedure. • Monitor the patient’s vital signs and provide assistance in positioning the patient during surgery. • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to the surgical procedure. • Follow all safety protocols and procedures established by the healthcare facility.
