Responsibilities of a Surgical Technologist:

• Prepare and maintain surgical suites and equipment for use in operations

• Assist surgeons during operations in accordance with established protocols • Ensure that sterile technique is maintained throughout the procedure • Monitor patient safety during the procedure and ensure that equipment is functioning properly • Obtain and prepare supplies for surgeries • Ensure that all instruments are sterile • Follow all safety and infection control protocols • Monitor and record patient vital signs • Assist with post-operative patient care • Perform minor procedures, as needed • Maintain accurate records of surgeries and patient information • Assist in the maintenance of the operating room environment • Keep abreast of new surgical procedures and technologies
