1. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and supplies.
2. Prepare and maintain operating rooms, including sterilizing equipment and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with positioning and draping to ensure their safety and comfort during surgery.
4. Handle specimens and surgical instruments, ensuring proper labeling and disposal according to established protocols.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective delivery of patient care.
6. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to prevent the spread of infections in the operating room.
7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of procedures, supplies used, and patient information in electronic health records.
8. Keep up-to-date on latest surgical techniques, procedures, and equipment to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
9. Follow all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
10. Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing patient outcomes and experiences.
11. Provide support and guidance to less experienced surgical technicians and assist in their training and development.
12. Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude, maintaining composure in high-stress situations and fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
13. Participate in on-call and/or weekend rotations as needed to provide 24/7 surgical support to patients.
