  1. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies.
  2. Maintain a sterile field in the operating room by following proper aseptic techniques.
  3. Prepare surgical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  4. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and proactively provide necessary supplies and equipment.
  5. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the safe and efficient flow of the procedure.
  6. Communicate effectively with the team to ensure accurate and timely documentation of procedures.
  7. Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures to minimize risks to patients and staff.
  8. Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies and equipment.
  9. Provide comfort and support to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  10. Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment, and techniques.
  11. Follow proper disposal procedures for medical waste and hazardous materials.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  13. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  14. Demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients and their families.
  15. Attend trainings and educational programs to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.

Job Qualifications
  • Education And Certification: A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Is Required, Along With Completion Of An Accredited Surgical Technology Program. Additionally, Candidates Must Be Certified As A Surgical Technologist (Cst) Through The National Board Of Surgical Technology And Surgical Assisting (Nbstsa).

  • Experience: Candidates Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working As A Surgical Technician In An Inpatient Setting, Preferably In A Main Operating Room. This Experience Should Include Exposure To A Variety Of Surgical Procedures And Techniques.

  • Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment: Strong Knowledge Of Surgical Procedures And Equipment Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterile Technique, Surgical Instrumentation, And Surgical Supplies.

  • Attention To Detail And Critical Thinking Skills: Surgical Technicians Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail In Order To Anticipate The Needs Of The Surgical Team And Ensure The Operating Room Is Set Up Properly. They Must Also Possess Strong Critical Thinking Skills To Troubleshoot Any Issues That May Arise During Surgery.

  • Teamwork And Communication: The Ability To Work Effectively In A Fast-Paced Team Environment Is Crucial For This Role. Surgical Technicians Must Be Able To Communicate Effectively With Surgeons, Nurses, And Other Members Of The Surgical Team To Ensure A Smooth And Successful Procedure.
