Surgical Technician

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. You will be responsible for assisting medical professionals in the operating room during surgeries. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and be able to work well in a team. You must have an accredited surgical technology certification, as well as a minimum of two years of experience in the field. Responsibilities:

1. Prepare the operating room prior to surgery, ensuring that the room is sterile and all necessary instruments and equipment are available.
2. Assist medical professionals during procedures, including passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, holding retractors, and suctioning.
3. Monitor the patient’s condition throughout the procedure and update the medical team as necessary.
4. Monitor, record, and report the patient’s vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
5. Collect, label, and accurately document specimens during surgery.
6. Help maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to infection control protocols.
7. Dispose of used supplies and equipment according to established protocols.
8. Demonstrate knowledge of the equipment and supplies used in the operating room and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in surgical technology.
9. Maintain accurate records of patient care and document any unusual occurrences during surgery.
10. Follow safety protocols and other regulations to ensure the safety of patients, medical staff, and visitors.
