Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Surgical Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. This is a critical role in our facility, and the ideal candidate will possess the necessary qualifications to ensure patients receive the highest quality of care. Our ideal candidate is a team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.Required Qualifications:• A minimum of one year of operating room experience in a healthcare setting• Current certification as a Surgical Technician or Surgical Technologist• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology• Ability to work with a variety of surgical instruments and medical supplies• Strong organizational, problem solving, and multitasking skills• Commitment to providing excellent patient care and results• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist surgeons during procedures by preparing and organizing the operating room, providing sterile instruments to the medical team, and monitoring the patient's vital signs.
  2. Ensure the operating room is clean and adequately stocked with the necessary supplies and equipment.
  3. Follow the policies and procedures of the facility to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
  4. Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting the surgical site and covering the patient with sterile drapes.
  5. Assist the medical team in transferring and positioning patients on the operating table.
  6. Collect and document patient information, such as vital signs and medical history.
  7. Monitor and record the patient's condition during the procedure using equipment such as pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, and ventilators.
  8. Assist the surgeon in closing the incision, applying bandages, and monitoring the patient's vital signs after the procedure.
  9. Prepare and maintain necessary records and reports.
  10. Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay abreast of the latest technology and techniques.
