  1. Responsible for maintaining a clean and sterile environment in all medical facilities.
  2. Follow strict sterilization protocols to ensure the safety of all patients.
  3. Perform regular equipment maintenance and cleaning to prevent contamination.
  4. Prepare and package medical devices and instruments for sterilization.
  5. Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  6. Restock and organize sterile supplies to ensure availability for medical procedures.
  7. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of sterile supplies.
  8. Maintain accurate records of instrument inventory and sterilization activities.
  9. Act as a resource for healthcare staff regarding proper sterilization techniques and protocols.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  11. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures.
  12. Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow.
  13. Continuously update knowledge of sterilization techniques and technologies.
  14. Attend trainings and meetings as required by the organization.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification: A Sterile Processing Technician Must Be Certified Through A Recognized Organization, Such As The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm) Or The Certification Board For Sterile Processing And Distribution (Cbspd).

  • Knowledge Of Sterilization Techniques: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Various Sterilization Techniques, Including Steam, Ethylene Oxide, And Low-Temperature Sterilization Methods.

  • Familiarity With Medical Terminology And Equipment: As A Sterile Processing Technician, One Must Have A Strong Grasp Of Medical Terminology And Be Able To Identify Various Medical Instruments And Equipment.

  • Attention To Detail: The Role Of A Sterile Processing Technician Requires A High Level Of Attention To Detail To Ensure That All Instruments And Equipment Are Properly Sterilized And Ready For Patient Use.

  • Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In A Fast-Paced Healthcare Environment, Sterile Processing Technicians Must Have Excellent Communication Skills And Be Able To Work Well In A Team Setting To Ensure Efficient And Effective Processing Of Medical Equipment.
