  1. Decontaminate and clean medical equipment and instruments according to established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Assemble and inspect instruments and equipment to ensure proper functionality and cleanliness.
  3. Operate sterilization equipment and ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
  4. Accurately document and maintain records of equipment and instrument processing.
  5. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment.
  6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment and supplies for patient care.
  7. Follow infection control and safety protocols to reduce the risk of infection and maintain a safe work environment.
  8. Participate in training and educational opportunities to stay current on industry standards and best practices.
  9. Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or issues to appropriate personnel.
  10. Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks performed.
  11. Adhere to all policies and procedures related to sterile processing and patient care.
  12. Uphold the organization's values of quality, integrity, and patient-centered care.
  13. Continuously seek ways to improve processes and enhance the quality of patient care.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Certification From An Accredited Sterile Processing Program: Candidates Must Possess A Certification From An Accredited Sterile Processing Program, Such As The Certified Registered Central Service Technician (Crcst) Certification From The International Association Of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (Iahcsmm).

  • Knowledge Of Sterile Processing Procedures And Equipment: Candidates Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Sterile Processing Procedures And Equipment, Including Decontamination, Sterilization, And Packaging Techniques.

  • Familiarity With Infection Control And Safety Protocols: A Strong Understanding Of Infection Control And Safety Protocols Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Knowledgeable About Proper Handling And Disposal Of Biohazardous Materials And How To Maintain A Sterile Environment.

  • Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting: Previous Experience Working In A Healthcare Setting, Preferably In Sterile Processing, Is Highly Desirable. This Experience Demonstrates The Candidate's Understanding Of The Unique Needs And Challenges Of Working In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting.

  • Attention To Detail And Strong Organizational Skills: Sterile Processing Technicians Must Have Excellent Attention To Detail And Be Highly Organized. The Ability To Carefully Follow Procedures And Maintain Accurate Records Is Critical In This Role To Ensure Patient Safety And Compliance With Regulatory Standards.
