Job Description

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a compassionate and skilled Staff Nurse for our Labor and Delivery department.   1. Provide exceptional and compassionate care to mothers and their newborns during labor and delivery.
  2. Utilize expertise and knowledge to support and guide patients through the labor and delivery process.
  3. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and their families.
  4. Monitor and assess the health of mothers and newborns, identifying any potential complications and taking appropriate action.
  5. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  7. Educate patients and their families about postpartum care and newborn care.
  8. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
  10. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during the labor and delivery process.
  11. Attend and participate in staff meetings and educational programs to stay updated on best practices and advancements in labor and delivery.
  12. Maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of patients and their families.
  13. Demonstrate professionalism and a positive attitude towards patients, their families, and coworkers.
  14. Take initiative to improve processes and enhance the patient experience.
  15. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  16. Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and crisis situations.
  17. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
  18. Maintain a high level of competency by attending training and continuing education programs.
  19. Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.
  20. Act as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Related Field: A Candidate For A Staff Nurse - Labor And Delivery Position At Kaiser Permanente Should Have A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution. This Degree Ensures That The Candidate Has A Strong Foundation In Nursing Principles And Is Well-Equipped To Handle The Complexity Of Labor And Delivery Cases.

  • Current Rn License In The State Of Practice: To Be Considered For A Staff Nurse - Labor And Delivery Job At Kaiser Permanente, Candidates Must Have A Valid And Current Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Where They Will Be Practicing. This Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The State's Requirements For Nursing Practice And Is Legally Eligible To Work As A Nurse.

  • Previous Labor And Delivery Experience: Kaiser Permanente Prefers Candidates With Prior Experience In Labor And Delivery Nursing. This Experience Can Be Gained Through Working In A Labor And Delivery Unit, Completing A Clinical Rotation In Labor And Delivery During Nursing School, Or Through Specialized Training And Certification Programs.

  • Bls And Acls Certification: Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications Are Required For A Staff Nurse - Labor And Delivery Position At Kaiser Permanente. These Certifications Indicate That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills To Provide Emergency Care And Support In Case Of Complications During Labor And Delivery.

  • Strong Communication And Teamwork Skills: Working In Labor And Delivery Requires Excellent Communication And Teamwork Skills. A Staff Nurse - Labor And Delivery At Kaiser Permanente Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals To Ensure The Best Possible Care For The Mother And Baby. They Should Also Be Able To Work Well In A Team Setting, Collaborating With Other Nurses, Physicians, And Support Staff.
