  1. Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor and delivery.
  2. Utilize strong understanding of labor and delivery procedures to assist in the delivery process.
  3. Monitor and assess the health of mothers and newborns throughout labor and delivery.
  4. Administer medications, IVs, and other treatments as needed.
  5. Communicate and collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.
  6. Educate and support mothers and their families on postpartum care and newborn care.
  7. Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care and progress.
  8. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
  9. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and advancements in labor and delivery.
  10. Provide emotional support and comfort to mothers and their families during the childbirth process.
  11. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  12. Advocate for patients and ensure their needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  13. Maintain a professional and caring demeanor at all times.
  14. Stay up-to-date on all regulatory requirements and ensure compliance in all aspects of patient care.
  15. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice.
  16. Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
  17. Serve as a role model and mentor for other nursing staff.
  18. Remain calm and composed in fast-paced and high-stress situations.
  19. Continuously evaluate and improve patient care processes.
  20. Consistently demonstrate Kaiser Permanente's values of compassion, integrity, excellence, inclusion, and diversity in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Current And Valid Rn License In The State Of Practice.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or An Equivalent Qualification From An Accredited Institution.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Labor And Delivery Nurse In A Hospital Setting.

  • Cpr And Advanced Life Support Certifications.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of Labor And Delivery Protocols, Procedures, And Equipment.
