  1. Provide high-quality and compassionate nursing care to expectant mothers and their newborns in a Labor and Delivery unit.
  2. Monitor and assess the health of patients in labor, including vital signs, fetal heart rate, and progress of labor.
  3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  4. Assist with the delivery of babies, including monitoring and supporting the mother during labor, and providing care to the newborn immediately after birth.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare team members, including physicians, midwives, and other nurses, to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
  6. Educate patients and their families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
  7. Document patient information accurately and timely, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  8. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stocked.
  10. Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, trainings, and continuing education programs to maintain and improve clinical skills and knowledge.
  11. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during the labor and delivery process.
  12. Advocate for patients' needs and ensure their rights are respected.
  13. Collaborate with other departments and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
  14. Remain current on industry trends and advancements in labor and delivery care.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Kaiser Permanente in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Labor And Delivery Nursing.

  • Bls And Nrp Certifications.

  • Current And Active Rn License In The State Of Employment.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Nursing Or Equivalent From An Accredited Institution.

  • Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills, With The Ability To Work Well Under Pressure.
