Job Description

  1. Insert and maintain PICC lines for patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  2. Monitor and assess patients' PICC lines for any signs of complications or infections.
  3. Educate patients and their families on the proper care and maintenance of PICC lines.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with PICC lines.
  5. Document all aspects of PICC line care accurately and timely in the patients' medical records.
  6. Ensure the safe and effective use of PICC lines by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
  7. Stay current with advancements and changes in PICC line technology and procedures.
  8. Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families during the PICC line insertion and maintenance process.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and high-quality care.
  10. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices for PICC line management.
  11. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the performance of job duties.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow HIPAA regulations.
  13. Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and engage in ongoing education and training opportunities related to PICC line management.
  14. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.

Job Qualifications
  • Active Rn License In The State Of Employment.

  • Bls And Acls Certification.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Staff Nurse In A Healthcare Setting.

  • Experience And Knowledge In The Placement And Care Of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (Picc).

  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team, With Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills.
