  1. Sterilize and maintain all surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and procedures.
  2. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of sterile supplies and equipment.
  3. Perform routine maintenance and testing of sterilization equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  4. Follow infection control and safety guidelines to prevent the spread of diseases.
  5. Inspect and assemble surgical instruments to ensure they are in proper working order.
  6. Troubleshoot and report any issues with instruments or equipment to the appropriate personnel.
  7. Collaborate with surgical and healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment for procedures.
  8. Keep accurate and detailed records of instrument sterilization and maintenance.
  9. Train and mentor new SPD Instrument Technicians on proper sterilization techniques and procedures.
  10. Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and best practices for instrument sterilization and maintenance.
  11. Adhere to all hospital and department policies and procedures.
  12. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve processes and procedures.
  13. Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  14. Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare staff.
  15. Continuously strive to provide the highest quality of patient care and customer service.
  16. Attend and actively participate in trainings, meetings, and educational programs as required.
  17. Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  18. Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
  19. Flexibly adjust to changing priorities and work assignments.
  20. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working As An Instrument Technician In A Sterile Processing Department.

  • Knowledge Of Proper Sterilization Techniques And Procedures, Including Decontamination, Inspection, Assembly, And Packaging.

  • Familiarity With A Variety Of Medical Instruments And Equipment, And The Ability To Troubleshoot And Repair Any Issues.

  • Proficiency In Maintaining Accurate Records And Inventory Of Instruments And Supplies.

  • Certification From A Recognized Spd Program Or Equivalent Training And Experience In Sterile Processing.
