
Respiratory Care Practitioner - Sleep Specialist

- Conduct sleep assessments and provide treatment recommendations for patients with sleep disorders.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as polysomnography, titration studies, and pulmonary function tests.
- Educate patients on sleep hygiene and provide guidance on lifestyle changes to improve sleep quality.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Monitor and adjust sleep therapy equipment for patients, including CPAP and BiPAP machines.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate records of treatments and interventions.
- Stay current on new developments and advancements in respiratory care and sleep medicine.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in implementing new processes and protocols.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment for patients and staff.
- Provide support and guidance to fellow team members, including respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations in regards to patient information.
- Continuously evaluate and assess patient outcomes, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed and resolved in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Attend relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Bachelor's Degree In Respiratory Care Or Related Field From An Accredited Institution.
Current State License As A Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Certification As A Sleep Specialist By The National Board For Respiratory Care (Nbrc).
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience As A Respiratory Care Practitioner, Preferably With A Focus On Sleep Disorders.
Experience With Electronic Medical Records And Proficiency In Diagnostic And Therapeutic Equipment Related To Respiratory Care And Sleep Disorders.
