Job Description

  1. Serve as the first point of contact for patients entering the facility, providing friendly and professional customer service.
  2. Explain and assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and benefits, including copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  3. Create and update patient accounts in the electronic medical records system, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  4. Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services.
  5. Schedule patient appointments and confirm insurance information prior to the appointment.
  6. Assist patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork, ensuring all required information is gathered and accurately entered.
  7. Process patient payments and provide receipts, as well as assist with payment plans and financial assistance programs.
  8. Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing and insurance-related issues.
  9. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines when handling patient information.
  10. Continuously update knowledge of insurance and billing processes, as well as any changes in medical policies and regulations.
  11. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries, complaints, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  12. Participate in training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  13. Assist with administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, and data entry as needed.
  14. Collaborate with other departments and team members to ensure a smooth patient experience.
  15. Uphold the mission and values of Kaiser Permanente, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Healthcare Customer Service Or Patient Access Roles.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology, Insurance Plans, And Healthcare Regulations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Patients And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Proficient In Computer Systems And Data Entry, With The Ability To Navigate And Troubleshoot Electronic Medical Records And Insurance Databases.
