- Provide high-quality and compassionate care to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Assess and triage patients, identifying any urgent or critical needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and response to treatments.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide life-saving interventions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards of care.
- Continuously monitor and ensure patient safety and infection control practices.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance skills and knowledge.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide emotional support to patients and families during times of crisis.
- Assist with the discharge planning process and provide patient education.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall improvement of patient care.
Bachelor's Degree In Nursing: Candidates For This Position Should Have A Bachelor's Degree In Nursing From An Accredited Institution. This Ensures That They Have A Strong Foundation In Nursing Theory And Practice, As Well As The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide High-Quality Care In The Fast-Paced Environment Of An Emergency Department.
Current Rn License: All Applicants Must Hold A Current And Unrestricted Registered Nurse (Rn) License In The State Where The Kaiser Permanente Facility Is Located. This License Demonstrates That The Candidate Has Met The Educational And Professional Requirements Necessary To Practice As A Nurse In That State.
Previous Emergency Department Experience: To Be Considered For This Role, Candidates Should Have At Least 2-3 Years Of Experience Working In An Emergency Department. This Experience Allows Them To Be Familiar With The Unique Challenges And Demands Of This Setting, And To Hit The Ground Running In A Fast-Paced And High-Pressure Environment.
Bls And Acls Certifications: As Emergency Situations Can Arise At Any Moment, It Is Crucial For Rns Working In The Emergency Department To Have Basic Life Support (Bls) And Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Acls) Certifications. These Certifications Demonstrate That The Candidate Has The Necessary Skills To Respond To Life-Threatening Emergencies And Provide Critical Care To Patients.
Strong Communication And Critical Thinking Skills: Working In The Emergency Department Requires Excellent Communication And Critical Thinking Skills. Rns Must Be Able To Quickly Assess And Prioritize Patient Needs, Collaborate With Other Healthcare Professionals, And Effectively Communicate With Patients And Their Families. These Skills Are Essential For Providing Safe And Effective Care In A Fast-Paced And High-Stress Environment.
