We are currently seeking a Perfusionist II-Per Diem to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a per diem basis, providing perfusion services to our patients as needed. As a Perfusionist II, you will play a vital role in our surgical team, ensuring the proper functioning of the heart and lung machines during surgeries.   1. Operate and maintain heart and lung machines during surgical procedures, including monitoring and adjusting blood flow, oxygen levels, and temperature.
  2. Administer and monitor medications and blood products, as directed by the surgeon, to optimize patient outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with the surgical team to plan and implement appropriate perfusion techniques for each individual patient.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of perfusion procedures and patient information.
  5. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and communicate any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  6. Follow established safety protocols and ensure a clean and sterile work environment.
  7. Educate patients and their families on the perfusion process and answer any questions or concerns.
  8. Stay up-to-date on current perfusion techniques, equipment, and industry developments.
  9. Flexibility to work on a per diem basis, including weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the healthcare facility.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations related to perfusion services.
  11. Provide exceptional patient care and maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.
  12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality and continuity of care for patients.
  13. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of perfusion services at Kaiser Permanente.
  14. Possess and maintain all necessary certifications and licenses required for the position.
  15. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Perfusion Technology Or Related Field From An Accredited Program.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Perfusionist In A Hospital Setting.

  • Current Certification By The American Board Of Cardiovascular Perfusion (Abcp).

  • Proficient In Operating And Maintaining Extracorporeal Circulation Equipment.

  • Ability To Work Flexible Hours And Be Available On An On-Call Basis.
