  1. Operate and maintain heart-lung machines during surgical procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  2. Monitor patient vital signs and equipment parameters throughout surgeries, making necessary adjustments as needed.
  3. Prepare and administer medications and blood products as directed by the surgeon.
  4. Ensure the safe handling and disposal of all biohazardous materials.
  5. Collaborate with surgical team to provide optimal patient care and maintain a sterile environment.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all perfusion activities, including patient information, procedures performed, and equipment used.
  7. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and advancements in perfusion techniques and technology.
  8. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with equipment or procedures, reporting any malfunctions or concerns to appropriate personnel.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure a positive and comfortable experience.
  10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental performance.
  12. Train and supervise perfusion students and other healthcare professionals as needed.
  13. Maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor at all times, promoting a culture of exceptional patient care.
  14. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure adequate coverage and support for perfusion services 24/7.
  15. Uphold the values and mission of Kaiser Permanente, representing the organization in a positive and professional manner.

Job Qualifications
  • Ability To Work Independently And As Part Of A Team In A Fast-Paced Environment.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Perfusion Technology Or Related Field.

  • Certification By The American Board Of Cardiovascular Perfusion.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Perfusionist In A Hospital Setting.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Cardiovascular Anatomy, Physiology, And Pharmacology.
