Pathology Assistant

Responsibilities:

1. Collect and prepare tissue specimens for examination and testing.
2. Performs all duties necessary for the processing of tissue specimens, including grossing, fixation, embedding, cutting, staining, and labeling.
3. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tissue specimens handled.
4. Assist in the daily operation of the Pathology lab, including stocking supplies and equipment, and cleaning work surfaces.
5. Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
6. Assist Pathologists in the preparation and production of slides for examination.
7. Assist in the preparation and delivery of pathology reports.
8. Respond to inquiries from patients, families, and healthcare providers.
9. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and protocols.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
